CYA still remaining united during lock down

We're all battling in a very confusing time at the moment. The CYA team are used to their fair share of overcoming barriers and although the world is going through something unlike anything any of us have experienced there are a lot of things about the lock down that feel quite familiar to some of us.

As you can imagine the current restrictions have meant that CYA have had to make lots of adjustments to the way we work which hasn't been easy but in the true spirit of the CYA team we're continuing our work.

This has meant that our two previously planned campaign ideas for the year have had to be put on hold - we're still eager to get them up and running so watch this space!

1 thing's for sure CYA certainly know how to deal with a challenge and we have new exciting ideas that we'll be able to share very soon for everyone to be involved in. We're working to use this current situation as a learning opportunity - if we can bring one positive from this time we'd like people who are now faced with living and seeing things from our perspective to take this time to really understand the feelings that some of us experience everyday.

For most of you this is just temporary but for some of us, this is just our ordinary.

CYA have been meeting TWICE a week during the lock down via Zoom which has meant that we're able to continue our work. These difficult times have really brought the team closer than ever and we've learned the importance of checking in with each other and supporting each other as these scary times have taught the team that we all respond differently - this has shown the special relationships built within CYA as different members of the team have instinctively reached out to each other in individual ways that they know will support certain members of the team in different ways.

A new take on CYA SATURDAYS!

During this time it's very difficult to get away from worry and negative feelings, CYA now meet on Zoom every Saturday night to have CYA nights in. Each week we've been enjoying lots of activities that we can share together which has helped us to have something to look forward to through the week and time to completely forget about all of the uncertainty and scary things going on in the world. We've had a few great Non-pub quizzes, music, singing and talent sharing and most importantly we've had a lot of laughs!

I would like to say how proud I am with how all of the team have come together and supported one another at this confusing time.

On behalf of CYA I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Molly, Kirstie and all of the Grapevine team. Working from home throws up many challenges that often get overlooked and so I wanted to take a moment to say how much I and I'm sure many others, appreciate all of the support, care and encouragement that you all give to us when continuing to work and dedicate your time while adapting your everyday lives during such difficult times.

And with that, all that's left to say is... Cya soon!
